The Better Business Bureau (BBB) helps consumers find businesses they can trust, by setting standards and best business practices that companies and charities are expected to follow. Among other services they provide, they track customer complaints and the companies’ responses, and you can look up a company’s history of service on their website. You can also report and get information about scams.

The FBI’s website has a lot of information about current scams and fraud schemes and how to protect yourself from them. You can report a scam through the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3), a partnership between the FBI and the National White Collar Crime Center (NWC3).

The Federal Trade Commission is the nation's consumer protection agency. The FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection works for the consumer to prevent fraud, deception, and unfair business practices in the marketplace. The Bureau wants to hear from consumers who want to get information or file a complaint about fraud or identity theft.

The Consumer Protection Project of the National Association of Attorneys General (NAAG) works to improve enforcement of state and federal consumer protection laws. It also promotes information exchange among the states.

The federal government established OnGuardOnline.gov to educate consumers about scams and responsible online behavior, to help you and your kids be safe online. In addition to providing tips and information, they list the websites of government agencies and other organizations where you can file complaints about frauds and scams.
