Send money to India online
Sending money to India is easy with the Western Union app. You don’t need to travel from home or work to perform this money transfer. The recipient also has the convenience of receiving the money transfer online, directly to their bank account in India. But, if they prefer to withdraw the amount in cash, they have the option of going to an authorized Western Union agent location.
With the app already downloaded to your cell phone, start by registering your personal information – this will only be necessary when you first access the platform. Then select the country, which will be India for this case, and include the amount you want to send to the recipient. You will notice that, when you add the amount in Canadian dollars, the amount that the recipient will receive will appear on the right side already converted into Indian currency.
Now choose how the recipient wants to receive the money (bank account or cash pick-up) and how you want to pay for this money transfer, which can be via credit1 or debit card, directly from your bank account or in cash at the nearest Western Union agent location, by presenting your identity document. After selecting one of these options, you will have to make the full payment plus any applicable fees.
Once you are done with the process, use the transaction identification number (MTCN) to follow the money transfer in real time.
