With that purpose in mind, we recently launched an in-app donation feature that allows our U.S. customers to donate to the Western Union Foundation during their transaction by simply clicking ‘donate to the WU Foundation’ before completing the money transfer.
Additionally, as we approach the year end giving season and International Migrants Day on Dec. 18, Western Union and the Western Union Foundation have teamed up to support the American Red Cross Restoring Family Links initiative, to help reconnect family members who have been separated by crisis, conflict or migration.
From Dec. 15, 2019 – Jan. 15, 2020, 100 percent of in-app donations made to the Western Union Foundation through the Western Union® app will go to the American Red Cross Restoring Family Links initiative. In addition, for every donation received during this window, the Foundation will also donate $10* to the initiative.
