Every transaction you make on the Western Union Canada platform or in our app generates what we call a transfer control number (MTCN). This is the identifying number of your transfer. It is with the MTCN that you will be able to track a transfer on Western Union Canada.
If you did not save the MTCN when you made the transfer, you can simply access your transaction history to find the number. You cand check it on the main menu of our app.
With the MTCN in hand, there are two ways to track a transfer with Western Union Canada:
1. Track a transfer through the online platform
First, you can track your transfer by accessing our online platform through your browser. Once there, you will only need to enter your MTCN number to see the status of your transfer. If you are the receiver, simply click on “I’m the receiver” and use the same identifying number.
2. Tracking a transfer through Western Union app
From the app, it is also easy to track a transfer with Western Union Canada. Just click on “Menu” at the top of the screen and then on “Track transfer”. You will also need to enter the MTCN and from which country the money was sent. If you are the receiver, you may also click on “I’m the receiver” before entering the MTCN.
If it has been less than 30 to 40 minutes since you made your transfer, it may not have been confirmed yet. Sometimes, we need to check the receiver ID before confirming a transfer. In this case we recommend waiting a little longer and trying again!
