The Western Union app can be downloaded both for Android on the Play Store and for iOS on the Apple Store. Once downloaded, you can use it to transfer money to the USA and over 200 other countries. It is quite simple, check it out!
When you access the app for the first time, you will have to register with your data. But don’t worry: this action is only necessary once. After registering, simply select the country where you want to send the money (in this case, USA) and enter the amount of Canadian dollars you want to send. You will see that the application will automatically tell you the amount converted to USA dollars.
After checking the amounts, you must select how you want the recipient to receive the money. The Western Union app gives you several options to transfer money to the USA: you can either send money online to the recipient’s account, or you can send it to one of our local agents so that the recipient can pick up the money in person.
You can also choose how you want to pay for the transfer: VISA credit card1, debit card, directly from your account, or by paying in person at one of our local agents. After selecting your option, make the full payment including transfer fees2 for international transfers.
The application will tell you the transfer control number (MTCN). This is where you can track the transfer status in real-time. You can also see your ongoing and completed transfers by going to the app’s main menu. Pretty easy, right?
