How can I send money to mobile Wallets in Rwanda and which wallets can I send money to?
Currently, we offer this service from all Agent locations around the world. You can walk into any of the Agent locations to transfer money to all major mobile wallets of your loved ones in Rwanda.
What is the process of sending money from an Agent location?
The process is simple:
- Walk into a Western Union Agent location
- Provide the receiver details to the WU Agent representative
- Indicate payout to wallet delivery
- Provide receiver’s wallet name and mobile phone number.
How much money can I send?
With Western Union, the minimum amount allowed per transaction is 100 RWF and the maximum amount allowed per transaction is 2,000,000 RWF.
How soon will the funds be available to the receiver?
The funds will be available in the receiver’s wallet in real-time.
Can I send money to mobile Wallets using WU.com or the Western Union mobile app?
Not at the moment. We will introduce the service in phases. Phase 1 will enable you to send money via Western Union Agent locations around the world. Activation from WU.com and the mobile app is expected to launch in the next phase.
What other options do I have to send money to Rwanda?
You can send money via Western Union’s Agent and digital network worldwide, which can be paid out directly into bank accounts, or in cash at more than 900 Agent locations[1] across Rwanda.
