At Western Union, “moving money for better” also means supporting our employees to make the world a better place. Since 2015, we’ve sent some of WU’s top talent to the One Young World Summit to engage in addressing global challenges. Learn about how the experience inspired one delegate to utilize WU as an outlet to make a difference for refugee education with a crowdfunding project.
Alongside WU employees, WU’s One Young World scholarships make it possible for other young global leaders to attend the summit. Last year, our WU delegation consisted of both WU employees and young refugee leaders, who gathered with 1,400 leaders and social entrepreneurs focused on addressing key global issues such as peace, equality, and human rights.
This year, the Western Union Foundation is also supporting the event with the Western Union Foundation One Young World Delegate Scholarship program. The program will allow for 3 young people from around the world who have demonstrated support for refugees, working to support refugees causes, or are leaders dedicated to migrant, refugees, and underserved communities, to apply for a scholarship. The program offers 3 scholarships and is administered and operated by One Young World.
The Hague, the city of Peace of Justice, is hosting the 2018 One Young World Summit . Western Union and the Western Union Foundation are pleased to communicate these scholarship opportunities to attend the 2018 summit, for young leaders across the globe.
