How to renew your Moroccan passport
To renew Moroccan passport in France, you have to follow four steps:
- Download and complete the Moroccan passport renewal form here,
- Gather and submit all the documents required for the renewal,
- Make an appointment on the Moroccan consulate website. You must make an appointment to enter the consulate,
- Bring your complete file on the day of the appointment. Make sure to be on time or the appointment will be canceled. The person applying for a Moroccan passport in France must attend in person, regardless of whether they are an adult or a minor.

Which documents need to be provided to renew a Moroccan passport in France?

- Two 35 mm x 45 mm ID photos, on a blue, white or light gray background, that have been taken in the past six months and that clearly show the applicant’s facial features,
- Completed Moroccan biometric passport application form, dated and signed by the applicant,
- Up-to-date consular registration,
- Old passport that has expired or will expire soon. In the event that you have lost your passport or it has been stolen, you must provide a sworn statement including the number of the old passport,
- Photocopy of the CNIE (Carte Nationale d’Identité Électronique — Electronic National Identity Card) or any other document proving your right to stay (visa, residence permit, etc.). If you no longer have it (because you are renewing it, for example), you can provide a photocopy of the document confirming that you applied for its issuance or renewal together with a copy of your birth certificate issued less than six months prior,
- A tax stamp, available on the Moroccan consulate’s website.
Additional documents to be provided for an adult under guardianship
If an adult under guardianship is applying to renew their Moroccan passport in France, their legal representative must provide additional documents:
- A photocopy of their identity document,
- Proof of their capacity as the applicant’s legal representative.

Additional documents to be provided for a minor
If a minor wishes to renew their Moroccan passport in France, the documents to be provided vary:
- For a Moroccan minor aged 12 to 18, it is the same documents that are to be provided for their passport to be renewed,
- Minors under the age of 12, instead of providing the CNIE, have to provide a copy of their birth certificate, with the applicant’s first names, last names and parents’ names cited in Latin and Arabic characters.
On the day of the appointment, one of the minor’s parents will have to accompany them and provide a form of ID. If the accompanying person is not one of the minor’s parents, they will have to provide a document proving that they are the minor’s legal representative.
What is the processing time for a Moroccan passport renewal in France?
The processing time to renew a Moroccan passport in France is approximately four weeks after submitting the application file at the consulate. This can vary depending on when you apply. When your passport is ready, you’ll receive an SMS or email. To collect your new Moroccan passport, you must make another appointment with your consulate within six months. You must attend in person and present your CNIE on the day, as well as your expired passport (which you will not be able to keep) and the confirmation from when you submitted the application.
