Tristan Van Der Vijver, Western Union’s Global Head of Compliance for Payments and the Vice-Chair of the Supervisory Board of Western Union International Bank, has joined the board of directors of CIFF General Partner Ltd (CIFF GP), a subsidiary of The Children Investment Fund Foundation (UK) (CIFF), as a Non-Executive Director. CIFF GP oversees the investments of CIFF’s nearly $6 billion in endowment assets.
CIFF is the world’s largest philanthropic organization with a specific focus on improving children’s lives. It works with a wide range of partners and areas of work, including child health and development, tackling child slavery and exploitation, and preventing climate change.
“I am honoured to accept this appointment, and I look forward to making a positive contribution to CIFF. The Foundation does great work in transforming the lives of children in developing countries,” Van Der Vijver said. “A huge part of Western Union’s mission always has been about serving marginalized communities, and I’m excited to bring that spirit to CIFF.”
Jon Watts, CFO, CIFF commented: “We are very much looking forward to have Tristan Van Der Vijver join our CIFF GP Ltd board, especially with his deep knowledge on international Risk and Compliance topics.”
