Costa Rica-based newspaper La Republica wrote an article late last month detailing how Western Union was recently recognized as “one of the best companies to work for.”
“Great Place to Work recognized that Western Union is a highly humane company, aware of the importance of workers, which has managed to maintain that spirit,” they write (translated from Spanish).
To measure satisfaction, Western Union conducted an internal survey among its workers that had an 80% participation rate, they say, a high participation rate.
The newspaper quotes Erick van der Laat, General Manager of Western Union Costa Rica, as saying: “These types of evaluations allow us to strengthen ties with our employees and help us build a brand that generates even more trust in the Costa Rican labor market.”
“We receive this recognition with great joy, taking into account that we always prioritize the needs of our workers, who at the end of the day are the ones who give life to our company,” added Van der Laat.
