    How much money can I send to the UK?

    The maximum sum of money you can send from the US to a UK bank with Western Union is $50,000 – via bank transfer only. If you want to pay by cash from the UK or your relative wants to collect cash from one of our agent locations in the US, then your money transfer has a limit of $5,000.

    How do I send money online to the UK?
    1. Log in or register and verify your free profile. Click ‘Send now’ to commence your transfer.
    2. Enter the destination as ‘United Kingdom’ and the amount you’d like to send. Bank deposits can be tracked in real time.
    3. Select ‘Bank account’. You can choose from past receivers or enter a new receiver’s bank account details3.
    4. Pay for the transfer with your bank account, credit2 or debit card.
    5. We will send a confirmation email with a Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) for your transfer. Share this number with your receiver to track the funds.
    What do I need to send money online to the UK?

    If you’re sending money to the UK for deposit in a bank account, you’ll need to have some receiver details to hand. To complete the transfer, you’ll need to have their first and last name, bank name, bank account number and sort code. Transfers are normally completed in up to one working day.

    How do I send money to the UK from a Western Union agent location?

    2. Visit the counter with your valid government-issued ID or phone number, and bring along the bank and account information for your receiver.
    3. Pay with cash or a US bank-issued debit card.
    4. We’ll give you a receipt with the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) for your transfer. You should share this number with your receiver so they can track the funds.
