What are the benefits of becoming a My WU member?

As a My WU member, you can opt to accrue WU points with each money transfer or earn Cash Back rewards via online shopping through the WU Shop. For more avid shoppers, we offer a WU Shop VIP subscription. To learn more, read About WU Shop in detail.

How can I redeem earned WU points?

You can redeem your accrued WU points to get a transfer fee discount³ on a future money transfer. As soon as you redeem points for a reduced transfer fee, you’ll get the following message – ‘Redemption completed successfully.’ It might take a few minutes for the discount to appear on your account. If you don’t see it appearing, be sure to refresh the page or log in again. If it still doesn’t work, please contact us.

You may use any of the following available redemption methods:

Using the website

Log in to your Western Union profile.
Go to the menu icon at the top right side of the screen and select My WU^SM rewards from the dropdown.
Your My WU^SM number and available points will be displayed automatically.
Choose ‘Redeem rewards’ to show reward options.
Select your reward and choose ‘Redeem reward.’

Alternatively, you can also redeem your points while sending money. Choose the payment option and the way your receiver wants to receive the money. Your available points will be displayed at the bottom of the screen. Redeem your points and your discount will be displayed on the transfer summary on the right side of the ‘Send money’ page.

Using the My WU portal

Sign in with either your WU.com credentials or your My WU information.
Navigate to the ‘Rewards’ section of the page.
Choose a reward you would like to redeem.
Click ‘Redeem now.’

Using the mobile app

Open the Western Union mobile app and log in to your profile.
Go to ‘My WU’ in the menu.
Choose ‘Redeem points’ to show reward options.
Select your reward and choose ‘Redeem reward.’

How can I redeem earned Cash Back?

Cash Back can be redeemed once your account accrues a minimum of $25. Please use the following steps to redeem your Cash Back:

Log in to your My WU profile.
Click Redeem Cash Back under the Cash Wallet.
Confirm the amount for redemption.
Save the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) number if you are withdrawing cash for pick up at any of our nearest agent locations using a valid ID.

Can I use My WU points for shopping in WU Shop?

No, at present, it isn’t possible to shop using WU points. But we are constantly working on introducing new features and improving customer experience. Stay updated.

How can I learn about ongoing promotions and offers for loyalty members?

Be the first to know about the latest updates and promotional offers by subscribing to our email. You can do this in your profile section on wu.com or the mobile app. If you don’t have an account yet, contact our team or ask the agent for marketing communication opt-in on your next money transfer.
