1. Register for a free Western Union online profile or log in if you have one set up already. Get started by clicking ‘Send money’.
2. Select the country where your loved one is based and enter the send amount.
3. Choose your loved one’s preferred receiving method – for example, bank account, cash, credit/debit card or mobile wallet2.
4. Pick a payment method. Your options can include credit3/debit card or Trustly.
5. Enter any details we request about you and your receiver, then pay.
6. Follow your money with the tracking number (MTCN) we provide.
The exact information you’ll require to send money with Western Union depends on the country and money transfer method. For example, you’ll normally need the full name and address of your receiver to send money for cash pickup, while bank account transfers generally require the bank name and account number. You can send money abroad without a bank account by paying in cash at a Western Union agent location. Simply follow these steps:
1. Search for an agent location that is convenient with our finder tool.
2. Hand in your receiver’s information at the front desk. You’ll also generally require a valid government-issued ID, phone number.
3. Pay with cash.
4. Track your money transfer using the tracking number (MTCN) you’re provided with.
