    How much money can I send to India?

    For a money transfer to India, the maximum amount you can send varies depending on which payment and receipt methods are selected. You can send up to €50,000 from France to India via bank transfer, and up to €2454.76 for cash pickup.

    How do I transfer money to India online?
    1. Create a profile or log in to your Western Union account and click “Continue.”
    2. Select “India” in the “Send to” box and enter the amount you would like to send in the relevant box.
    3. Once you’ve entered the desired amount, you’ll be asked to choose how the receiver will get the money — in a bank account or to be picked up in cash.
    4. For the next step, select a payment method. You should now be able to see a comprehensive quote.
    5. Click “Continue” to go to the next page and fill out both your own and your receiver’s details. You will also be asked to indicate the reason for the transfer and the source of the funds.
    6. Once you’ve confirmed the transaction, you’ll receive a unique MTCN (money transfer control number) to track the progress of your transfer. You can share this number with your receiver.
    What do I need to send money to India online?

    If you haven’t already, create a Western Union profile for free. Visit our registration page and enter the following details:

    • Your name and address.
    • Details of an official form of ID, such as a driver’s license or a French passport.

    Once you’re registered, you can start setting up your money transfer to India by entering the following details:

    • The reason for the transfer and the source of the funds.
    • Your receiver’s name, mailing address and email address.
    How do I work out the transfer fees for sending money to India?

    Once you’ve selected your payment method, how the receiver wants the money and the transfer amount on our dedicated page, the details regarding the transfer fees2, estimated transfer time and exchange rates2 will display.

    How long does the transfer take to get to India?

    Transfer times may vary depending on the payment method, what time you made the transfer, public holidays and security checks. When you select your payment method, you’ll be able to see the estimated transfer time before committing to making the transfer. For example, if you’re transferring money to be picked up in cash, it can arrive in a few minutes1.
