Head over to westernunion.com or download our app. Register for your free profile in a few easy steps. If you already have a profile, simply log in. Once you’ve done that, you can make your first transfer to a debit or credit¹ card in a few simple steps.

Choose how much you want to send and where

Navigate to ‘Send now’ and choose the destination country where you want to send money. Once you’ve checked whether your destination country is covered by our card service, enter the amount to send. You’ll then see how much your receiver will get in their local currency. Check exchange rates and transfer fees² before you send.

Choose how you your receiver wants to get their money

Choose debit or credit¹ card as the receiving option, before moving onto selecting your payment method.

Choose how you want to pay

You can send money to your receiver’s debit or credit¹ card by choosing to pay with either a bank card, Sofort, or bank transfer. You can also use Apple Pay^® on our app.

Provide all your receiver’s details

You’ll need to supply your receiver’s:

• Full name
• Address
• Bank card number

Double-check everything you enter here, as incorrect information could mean your transfer is delayed, falls through or goes to the wrong person.

Select the purpose of your transfer

Add in the purpose of your money transfer so we know why you’re sending money to a card. This way financial institutions know everything is above board and good to go. You’ll also need to select how you’ve sourced your funds.

Finalize and pay for your transfer

Pay for your money transfer with your chosen payment method to complete the process. The money will be taken from your account and deposited into your receiver’s bank account linked to their card. This usually takes anywhere from a few minutes to around 1-5 business days, depending on the destination country.
