2. Verify your identity
– Start a transfer on westernunion.com.
– You will need to submit at least 2 identity documents as follows:
Japanese residents:
• Japanese passport or driving license
• My Number Card or Juminhyo with My Number (issued within the last 6 months)
Foreign residents:
• Residence Card
• My Number Card or Juminhyo with My Number (issued within the last 6 months)
3. Start your transfer on westernunion.com
– Enter the destination country and the amount you’d like to send.
– Choose how you’d like to pay for the online money transfer: via your personal internet banking account, or via your personal banking account at an ATM.
– Choose the payout method: cash, direct to bank, or mobile wallet in select countries.
4. Enter your receiver’s details
– If you’re sending directly to a bank account, you will need your receiver’s bank name, and account number1.
– You can save your receiver’s details for convenient repeat transfers.
5. Pay and send
– Pay for your transfer.
– Check all the details before hitting send.
– You’ll get a confirmation email with the tracking number (MTCN). Use it to track your transfer and share it with your receiver only.
– For your second transfer:
We will mail a 4-digit PIN to your postal address. You will need to enter this on your second money transfer to send again.

Download the Western Union® app on Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
2. Log in or register
– Follow the steps in the app to create a profile. Then start your transfer.
– You will need to submit at least 2 identity documents as follows:
Japanese residents:
• Japanese passport or driving license

• Residence Card
• My Number Card or Juminhyo with My Number (issued within the last 6 months)

Walk in to one of our more than 200 locations2 in Japan. Find one nearby.
2. Verify your identity
– Provide the agent with your full name and a valid photo ID.
– You will need to present one identity document and one My Number verification document as follows (if you submitted My Number Card for identity document, My Number verification document is not required)
Japanese residents:
• Identity Document: Japanese passport (please present Address Verification Document), driving license, or My Number Card
• My Number verification document: My Number Card or Juminhyo with My Number (issued within the last 6 months)
Foreign residents:

– Provide the agent with your receiver’s full name, the destination country, and the exact amount you wish to send.
– Choose the payout method: cash, direct to bank, or mobile wallet in select countries.

– Pay for your transfer in cash.

5. Pay in-store
– Pay for the transfer in cash.
– You’ll get a receipt with the tracking number (MTCN). Use it to track your transfer and share it with your receiver only.
Customers can transfer money 24/7, all year long, via Seven Bank ATMs and internet banking. Their beneficiaries can pick up the money at Western Union locations in 200 countries and territories. Up to 12 recipients can be registered on an ATM card.
Seven Bank ATMs and Customer Centers support nine languages: Japanese, English, Chinese, Tagalog, Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, Indonesian, and Thai.
In order to use the Seven Bank Overseas Money Transfer Service, you need to open a Seven Bank account and apply for an overseas money transfer service contract. You can open an account on the Seven Bank website or app, or at a Seven Bank branch.

There’s no need to open a bank account to use the International Money Transfer service by FamilyMart. You can just pay in cash at the cash register at a FamilyMart store.
Pre-registration is required to use this service. The maximum transferable amount including the fees is up to 300,000 JPY per transfer. The service is available from 9 am to 9 pm daily, excluding service maintenance hours.
