Send money to Brazil

To send money online to Brazil with Western Union, follow these simple steps:

1. Register for a free profile and fill in the online form – or log in if you’re an existing customer.
2. Start the money transfer and select Brazil as the destination. Add how much you want to send in euros, along with your chosen payment and receiving method.
3. This will convert the total amount into Brazilian real on the right-hand side. Check you’re happy with the exchange rate, transfer fees² and estimated delivery time.
4. Enter your receiver’s details or select them if you’ve sent money before.
5. Pay for the money transfer to Brazil using your preferred method and click ‘Send’ to complete.

You can send money to Brazil from Germany in person from a Western Union agent location. To do this:

1. Find a convenient agent location and make your way there. You can start a money transfer through our app in advance too.
2. Present photo ID and your receiver’s details (such as their full name, address, and destination). You may also be asked for proof of funds and a purpose for your money transfer.
3. Pay for the money transfer in cash or with a credit¹/debit card.
4. Keep your receipt and use the tracking number (MTCN) to monitor your money transfer’s progress.

You can send up to EUR 50,000 to Brazil when making a bank-to-bank money transfer online. If using Sofort the maximum amount you can send to Brazil is EUR 5,000. Paying by credit¹/debit card is limited to EUR 4,000 when sending money to Brazil online. Cash pickup at an agent location is available for money transfers up to EUR 6,200 if you pay in person. However, if you’d like to pay for this online then the maximum amount is EUR 5,000.

The length of time your money transfer takes will depend on the way you choose to send it, the chosen payment method, and receiving option. If your loved one wants to receive their money by cash pickup, then their money transfer could arrive in minutes³ – unless you pay by bank transfer, then this could take 1-2 business days. However, if they are receiving the money into their bank account, it will take 0-1 business days when paying with a credit¹/debit card or Sofort, and 1-3 business days for a bank transfer.
