Send money to Sri Lanka

Start sending money to Sri Lanka online by following these steps:

1. Register for free or log in if you already have a Western Union profile.
2. Then select the ‘Send now’ option to arrange your money transfer.
3. Click on ‘Sri Lanka’ as the destination, before entering how much you want to send. Check you’re happy with the typical Germany-Sri Lanka transfer times that should pop up.
4. To send money online direct to a loved one’s bank account in Sri Lanka, choose the ‘Bank account’ option. When you’ve previously sent them money and saved their details, you can quickly select these to speed up the process.

6. Use the tracking number (MTCN) emailed over in your receipt to track its progress and share this with your receiver.

To transfer money to Sri Lanka from your nearest Western Union agent location:

1. Search for a Western Union agent location and head along.
2. Walk up to the counter and present a valid government-issued ID or your phone number, along with your receiver’s bank and account details.
3. You may be asked to show proof of your source of funds as well, so please present a bank statement, tax return or payslip if requested.
4. Use your debit or credit¹ card or cash to pay for the transfer to Sri Lanka.
5. Take your physical receipt and use the tracking number (MTCN) to follow your money, sharing this with your receiver too.
