You’ll need to verify your profile before you can complete your first transfer. It will help us to know you and serve you better by getting your information correct upfront.
After you’ve verified your identity, you can send up to 3000 EUR.

FAQ / Identification process
Online identification process
Online on westernunion.com or the mobile app
- Log in to your Western Union profile. If you don’t have a profile yet, create one through westernunion.com or the mobile app.
- Start a transfer to initiate your verification process.
- Enter your personal and payment details. Make sure the information you’ve entered is correct.
- Upload any one of the following valid photo IDs:
- Passport (except Spain-issued passport)
- EU national ID (front and back)
- ES residence permit (front and back)
- ES work permit (front and back)
- If requested, upload an image of your credit/debit card. Make sure the image contains your full name, first six and last four digits of the card number, bank name, and logo.
- After your identity is verified, you’ll receive a confirmation email.
Please note, we don’t accept e-Cards or business/corporate cards.
In person at an agent location
If you’re sending money from an agent location, please bring any one of the following photo IDs:
- Passport (except Spain-issued passport)
- EU national ID card
- EU residence permit
- EU work permit
- Emergency travel document
- Ship’s passport
