If you want to send more than 799.99 GBP within a five-day period, we will need to confirm your identity first. Once we have finished your confirmation, you’ll be able to send up to 4,000 GBP for cash pickup within a three-day period. For bank transfer to bank account payouts, you will be able to send up to 50,000 GBP per transfer depending on the selected country. Bank transfer is available for UK residents only. Additional limits may apply.
You’ll need the following information to transfer money online:
If you want to transfer money online within minutes3, you can select cash pickup and use your credit1 or debit card to pay. Your receiver should then be able to collect their cash from a Western Union® agent location right away – though this may depend on hours of operation at their local branch.
Alternatively, if your receiver lives in a country where we offer money transfers to a mobile wallet4, you can select this option. So long as their wallet is activated and with one of our partner mobile operators in their country, the money should arrive almost instantly.
1. Log in or register and create your free profile. Click ‘Send now’ to start your online money transfer.
2. Enter the destination and amount you’d like to send. Transfer times vary per destination, but you’ll be able to view timings as you make your selections.
3. Select ‘Bank account’. You can select a past receiver or enter your receiver’s bank account details.
4. Pay with your credit1 or debit card.
5. We will send you a confirmation email with a tracking number (MTCN). You can share this number with your receiver to track the funds.
