It’s possible to send money internationally directly to your receiver’s phone if they have a mobile wallet from one of our partners and are in a country where this service is available.

The Western Union app lets you send money abroad on the go to a bank account, for cash pickup or to a mobile wallet.
1. If you already have the Western Union app, log in with Touch ID or your credentials. If you don’t have our app yet, simply download it on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. New users can follow the steps to register a profile with your email address.
2. Get started by entering the destination country and amount of money you’d like to send. Choose the payout method that works for you: directly to a bank account, for cash pickup or to a mobile wallet based on your receiver’s country. Enter your receiver’s details.
3. Pay to send your money internationally via debit or credit1 card, or with your bank account.
4. We’ll provide a tracking number (MTCN). Share this number with your receiver to track the funds. If sending to a mobile wallet, you and your receiver will get a confirmation alert via text3 notification when the money is delivered.

2. Go directly to the counter with your valid government-issued ID or phone number and bring your receiver’s bank and account information. Please note you may need to provide proof of source of funds, so ensure you have a bank statement, payslip or tax return with you.
3. Pay to send funds abroad with cash or a debit/credit1 card.
4. We’ll provide you with a receipt with a tracking number (MTCN). Share this number with your receiver and they’ll be able to track the funds.
To send money abroad in person, bring a valid form of ID. Accepted IDs include current signed passports, driving licenses, emergency passports or travel documents, or ships passports. You must also know the receiver’s full name as it appears on their ID in order to send your money internationally.
If you’re sending money abroad for cash pickup, your receiver may be able to collect the funds in minutes2. When you send cash abroad, both sender and receiver can easily track its progress using the MTCN tracking number online or with our app.
