If you want to send more than 799.99 GBP within a five-day period, we will need to confirm your identity first. Once we have finished your confirmation, you’ll be able to send up to 4,000 GBP for cash pickup within a three-day period. For bank transfer to bank account payouts, you will be able to send up to 50,000 GBP per transfer depending on the selected country. Bank transfer is available for UK residents only. Additional limits may apply.

You’ll need the following information to transfer money online:

• Money transfer destination
• Amount you want to send
• Your bank account, credit⁵ card or debit card details
• Your receiver’s bank details – or name and address for cash pickup.

If you want to transfer money online within minutes³, you can select cash pickup and use your credit⁵ or debit card to pay. Your receiver should then be able to collect their cash from a Western Union^® agent location right away – though this may depend on hours of operation at their local branch.

Alternatively, if your receiver lives in a country where we offer money transfers to a mobile wallet², you can select this option. So long as their wallet is activated and with one of our partner mobile operators⁴ in their country, the money should arrive almost instantly.

1. Log in or register and create your free profile. Click ‘Send now’ to start your online money transfer.
2. Enter the destination and amount you’d like to send. Transfer times vary per destination, but you’ll be able to view timings as you make your selections.
3. Select ‘Bank account’. You can select a past receiver or enter your receiver’s bank account details.
4. Pay with your credit⁵ or debit card.
5. We will send you a confirmation email with a tracking number (MTCN). You can share this number with your receiver to track the funds.

The Western Union app lets you send money abroad on the go to a bank account, for cash pickup or to a mobile wallet².

1. If you already have the Western Union app, log in with Touch ID or your credentials. If you don’t have our app yet, simply download it on the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. New users can follow the steps to register a profile with your email address.
2. Get started by entering the destination country and amount of money you’d like to send. Choose the payout method that works for you: directly to a bank account, for cash pickup or to a mobile wallet² based on your receiver’s country. Enter your receiver’s details.
3. Pay to send your money internationally via debit or credit⁵ card, or with your bank account.
4. We’ll provide a tracking number (MTCN). Share this number with your receiver to track the funds. If sending to a mobile wallet², you and your receiver will get a confirmation alert via text⁴ notification when the money is delivered.

If you’re sending money abroad for cash pickup, your receiver may be able to collect the funds in minutes³. When you send cash abroad, both sender and receiver can easily track its progress using the MTCN tracking number online or with our app.
