    How do I send money to Japan online?

    1. Register for a free profile or log in online. To start sending money, click ‘Send now’.
    2. Select Japan as your destination and input the amount you want to send. You’ll then see information about typical UK-Japan transfer times.
    3. Choose the method you’d like to pay with. Select either credit1 or debit card, Sofort or bank transfer. Then click ‘Continue’.
    4. If you’re sending money to a previous receiver, then select their name. If it is someone new, you will need their personal information, purpose of transaction and source of funds. If you’re sending money to their bank account, you’ll also need their bank account information – bank name, BIC and account number.
    5. Pay with your credit1 or debit card to send money to Japan.
    6. You’ll then receive a tracking number (MTCN) via email, which you can share with your receiver to both track your money in real time.

    What do I need to send money online to Japan from the UK?

    To send money to Japan for cash pickup, you’ll need your receiver’s full name, the reason you’re making the transfer and source of funds information. To send money to a bank account you’ll need all of the above, as well as their bank name, BIC and account number.

    How much money can I send to Japan?

    You can send up to 50,000 GBP to Japan with a bank-to-bank transfer. When paying with credit1/debit card you can send up to 4,000 GBP to their bank account. The amount you can send for cash pickup varies, so make sure you check our price estimator the latest limits.

    How do I send money to Japan from a Western Union location?

    It’s easy to start sending money from UK to Japan in person from a Western Union agent location. Here’s how:

    1. Find a nearby and convenient Western Union location.
    2. You will need to give a valid government-issued ID at the counter and the bank and account details of your receiver. You may be asked for proof of your source of funds before transferring money to Japan. Make sure you take a bank statement, payslip, or tax return with you.
    3. Pay for your money transfer to Japan using a debit or credit1 card, or cash.
    4. Track your transfer using the tracking number (MTCN) on your receipt.
