    How do I send money online to Uganda?

    To send money to Uganda from the UK, follow these steps:

    1. Log in – if you don’t have a profile, find out how to register for a free one.
    2. Click ‘Send now’.
    3. Choose Uganda and input the amount you wish to send.
    4. Select ‘Bank account’ to add your friend or family member’s details. If you’ve saved their account number before, simply select their information.
    5. Pay for your money transfer to Uganda with a credit2 or debit card.
    6. Track the payment using the tracking number (MTCN) we send you by email.
    What do I need to send money online to Uganda?

    To send money online, you need the recipient’s account number and information about the reason for transferring money to Uganda. The person receiving the money will need to bring their National Identification Number (NIN) and tracking number (MTCN) to pick up the cash.

    Money transfers to Uganda can be done in person by following these steps:

    1. Find a Western Union agent location near you.
    2. Provide a valid ID or phone number at the reception desk. You’ll also need to tell the agent where you’d like the money to be sent, so bring along the recipient’s account details. A bank statement, payslip or tax return may be required if we need to verify where the money has come from.
    3. Use cash, a debit or credit3 card to pay for your money transfer to Uganda.
    4. Hold on to your receipt – this includes your tracking number (MTCN), which can be used for tracking.
