How to send money

Send money for cash pickup in minutes2 when you pay with bank transfer or debit or credit card.

1. Log in to the Western Union app.

2. Tap ‘Send money.’ Enter the destination and the amount. Choose ‘pick up in cash’ and payment by ‘Bank transfer’ or ‘Credit1 or Debit card.’

3. Select a previous receiver or enter a new receiver’s name and address.

4. In the case of bank transfer, verify your bank account and complete your transfer. In the case of cards, pay by a credit1 or debit card issued by a bank in Italy.

5. Share the tracking number (MTCN) with your receiver for cash pickup.

If your receiver has a mobile wallet with our partners in selected countries, you can transfer funds directly to their mobile wallet.

1. Log in to the Western Union app.

2. Start a transfer. Enter the destination and amount. Choose delivery to a ‘Mobile wallet1.’

3. Enter your receiver’s name and mobile number.

4. Pay with your bank account or your credit1 or debit card.

5. You and your receiver will get a confirmation alert via text message when the money is delivered.

How to pay by bank transfer

1. Go to our website and click ‘Send money’ to start your transfer. Enter the destination and transfer amount.

2. Choose ‘Cash’ as the receive method and select (instant) payment by ‘Bank transfer’.

3. Log in, then select a previous receiver or enter a new receiver’s name and address.

4. Verify your bank account and complete your money transfer.

5. We will send a confirmation email with your Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN). ONLY share this number with your receiver for cash pickup.

If your receiver has a mobile wallet1 with our partners in selected countries, you can transfer funds directly to their phone.

1. Check available destination countries and mobile providers.

2. Log in or register, and click ‘Send money’ to start your transfer.

3. Enter the destination country and the amount you want to send, then choose delivery to a ‘Mobile wallet1’.

4. Select payment by ‘Bank transfer’ or ‘Credit1/Debit card’.

5. Enter your receiver’s name and mobile number.

6. Complete your money transfer.

7. Both you and your receiver will get a confirmation alert via text message when the money’s been delivered.

3. Give our agent the completed form with all applicable funds (including the transfer fee) in cash.

4. Save the receipt and share the Money Transfer Control Number (MTCN) with your receiver for fast cash pickup. Do not share it with anyone else.
